Sprinkler Heads Damaged During Snow Removal Operations
Posted on Apr 3rd, 2026

Fairway's Irrigation Team expects to be on site at Great Island most days during April and May, commencing Monday, April 6th, doing necessary repair work. If you have reported sprinkler damage, they may in some cases in the early days stop by unannounced to replace heads, etc. without actually needing to activate your system. This will allow them to get a headstart on the process. They may not do this at all homes, especially once they commence their part of the scheduled program below.

If you believe that your irrigation system was damaged during snow removal operations this season, and you also happen to have contracted with Fairway to do your annual system startup, give your Fairway Rep a ‘heads up’ about the damage and that you are ready to activate.

If you wish to have your 3rd party contractor make the repairs, or do them yourself, and you are content to incur all costs of repair, please proceed at your own pace. (If you had already reported the damage to your Snow Street Captain, please let them know that you no longer need help.)

If you want to proceed with your general system startup with your 3rd party contractor (or by yourself) but you do also expect Fairway to repair the damaged components at Fairway’s expense, please proceed as follows:
1. Report the irrigation damage (if you haven’t already done so) to your Snow Street Captain.
2. When you are ready, proceed to open your system, then flag any heads that you are convinced were damaged during snow removal operations, and then shut down the zone(s) with the malfunctioning head(s).
3. Notify your Snow Committee Street Captain that you are ready for Fairway.
4. Fairway will then contact you to arrange the repair (you need to be home to allow them access to the control unit) and will return your system to full operation after making the repair.
