Snow Committee Update and Review
Posted on Feb 1st, 2023

Greetings Great Island Residents,

We are now at the beginning of February and are about halfway through the snow season. Thankfully we have had a minimum amount of snow thus far, and road treatments have been aimed at preventing ice. We can all hope that the lack of snow continues through the next several months, but we don't expect that. We wanted to take this time to send out a few reminders to the community before we get a real snowstorm that requires driveway and walkway clearing.

The first point of contact for issues during and after a snow event is your Snow Street Captain. Check the current list of Street Captains which can be found under Committees in the details about the Snow Committee.

If you need help with spreading ice melt or putting out trash barrels please utilize the Good Neighbor program. The list of Good Neighbors is found under Helpful Info.

As you have seen, we send out regular communication during snow events, and we have the Snow Status Line you can call during a snow event to find out the status of snow removal. This phone line message contains the same basic information as the status emails that are sent out, and it is updated with the same regularity. The Snow Status number is (508) 591-0156. Please note we do not monitor this phone line, so please do not leave a voicemail message on it.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your Snow Street Captain.  Thanks in advance for helping the snow season continue to run smoothly.
