About Us
Great Island is located in Plymouth, MA, about 10 miles to the south of downtown Plymouth, and about the same to the Sagamore Bridge, gateway to Cape Cod. It is convenient to Route 3, the main highway that runs down the South Shore.
Great Island is as an over-55 active adult community, meaning that at least one resident must be over 55. Homes are all free standing single family or adjoined duplexes. The community is fully built at this time, so homes are available strictly by resale from previous owners.
We are one neighborhood of the larger community of The Pinehills. The neighborhoods of the Pinehills span a wide variety of homes and living situations, from custom built homes to condos, apartments, and assisted living. In addition to taking advantage of the facilities and activities of Great Island, residents are also entitled to use the facilities and take part in activities provided by The Pinehills.
Residents of Great Island belong to two associations, the Great Island Home Owners Association and the Pinehills Landowners Association. A monthly fee is paid to each association to cover the cost of maintenance and activities including, clubhouses, pools, tennis courts, bocce courts, lawn maintenance, snow and trash removal as well as water, sewer and fire protection services.
All residents are bound by the rules of Great Island Homeowner's Association. Our Articles of Organization were created on 12/2/2002. That document and the bylaws of the organization can be found on our Governing Documents page. In addition, since we are a neighborhood of The Pinehills we are subject to their governing documents as well.
